our process

enquiry
At the initial enquiry, we set up a meeting with a potential client to discuss their proposed project and also to introduce our company as a preferred main contractor.
Meeting
During the initial meeting, we gain an understanding of the client’s preferences and reservations. After which, we outline the building process including an introduction to a site safety plan.
Quote
Provide an estimate for the building work to be carried out based on the plans, specifications and instructions provided by the client. On larger or more complex contracts we recommend the services of a nominated registered Quantity Surveyor to accurately measure the work and cost of materials.
Contract
On acceptance of the estimate/quote, both parties agree to work within the scope of a New Zealand Certified Builders Contract. Insurance policies and cover notes relating to the building work and site security are to be included with the contract.
Guarantee
Halo guarantee currently under internal review with its underwriters Lloyds of London. And therefore temporarily unavailable. New underwriters are now being sourced by certified builders and we are advised that the insurance cover will be again available in the near future. Policies taken out up to January 31st 2020 remain unaffected.
Deposit
A deposit is required at the signing of the contract. Deposits are held in a secure, non-interest bearing, bank account and are returned at the completion of the contract or credited against the final invoice. Any outstanding credit remaining will be returned to the client within five working days.
Build
Where necessary and if required, a Code of Compliance Certificate is obtained from the Local Council Building Authority by Parris and Williams. A provisional sum will be included in the costing to offset this expense.
